Reintroducing Ourselves
If you have only just discovered us or are simply wanting to remind yourselves a bit more about us and what we do. Give this blog a quick read.
Who are we?
Tempo offers bespoke charity partnerships to businesses and organisations wanting to give back to their community.
We see ourselves as the glue which binds businesses with local voluntary partnerships that collectively can support community-based initiatives and challenges together.
How does it work?
The concept is simple. People earn Tempo Time Credits when they volunteer with a charity or community group that is part of the Tempo network. They then use their credits on a wide range of activities, products and services of their choice.
These activities are provided by the national network of Tempo recognition partners i.e. businesses and organisations, and are essential to ensuring the volunteers are recognised for the invaluable work they do.
Today, there are over 750+ recognition partners in the Tempo network, with 68,000+ people having earned Tempo Time Credits and more than 1 million Tempo Time Credits have been earned across the United Kingdom.
Why get involved?
We offer every business a unique opportunity to design a corporate charity partnership and recognition package that suits their corporate social responsibility objectives.
This could be anything from breaking down barriers with elitism, racism, sexism and ageism or appealing to a younger audience, and underrepresented community group or diversifying your audience range.
There’s no subscriptions or hidden costs. Our recognition partners packages are purely designed based on their needs and how much they can offer. Whether it’s a gym session, cinema ticket, college course or cafe voucher, every business and organisation can get involved.
Our impact so far
We are thrilled to say that our award-winning work in health, communities and resilience has been endorsed by the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS), the New Economics Foundation and the University of Cambridge.
No surprise, 2020 saw a massive surge in numbers and diversity of people wanting to volunteer. As we continue through 2021 and beyond, this appears to remain as businesses and individuals actively seek new ways that they can contribute and give back to their local community.
The 2020/2021 Tempo Impact report shows those who volunteer within the Tempo network:
95% feel they are contributing to their community
89% feel more positive about the future
88% improved mental health
88% feel less lonely and isolated
