Celebrating 15 Years of Tempo Time Credits: A Journey of Community Empowerment
As we mark the milestone of 15 years since its inception, Tempo Time Credits stands as a beacon of community empowerment and social change. What began as a visionary idea in 2008 has evolved into a transformative force, touching the lives of countless individuals and communities across Wales and beyond.
The story of Tempo Time Credits is one of innovation, collaboration, and unwavering commitment to the values of equality, inclusion, and social justice. Founded by Spice Innovations Ltd., Tempo Time Credits emerged as a pioneering initiative aimed at engaging, involving, recognising and valuing the contributions of community members, volunteers, and community activists.
Over the years, Tempo Time Credits has grown from strength to strength, thanks to the dedication of our team, the support of our partners, and, most importantly, the passion and enthusiasm of the individuals who participate in our programs. Together, we have built a movement that celebrates the power of community and the inherent potential within each and every one of us to effect positive change.
Reflecting on our journey thus far, I am reminded of the words of our CEO, Rachel Gegeshidze who recently remarked:
“Today, as we celebrate 15 years of Tempo Time Credits in Wales, we not only commemorate our past achievements but also look forward with optimism and determination to the future. Our journey has been defined by the resilience and spirit of the communities we serve, and it is their stories of transformation and enablement that inspire us to continue our work with renewed vigor.”
Indeed, as we celebrate this milestone, we do so with a deep sense of gratitude for the support and collaboration of our partners, the dedication of our team members, and, above all, the trust and commitment of the individuals and communities who have embraced Tempo Time Credits as a catalyst for change. In 2020 through funding from Welsh Government Tempo scaled across Wales building networks across all 22 Local Authority areas in Wales. The first national Time Credit network in the world.
We are incredibly excited to share a selection of stories we have gathered from various parts of Wales. These narratives originate from dedicated volunteers, charitable organisations, and our business supporters, all of whom are actively contributing to the betterment of their communities.
By showcasing these inspiring stories, we aim to shine a spotlight on the diverse array of experiences and accomplishments that collectively define Tempo’s mission, vision and purpose.
The stories we have gathered serve as a testament to the resilience, creativity, and compassion that define the people of Wales – working together with Tempo Time Credits.
Looking ahead, we remain committed to our mission of building stronger, more resilient communities where everyone has the opportunity to thrive. As we embark on the next chapter of our journey, we do so with a sense of optimism, knowing that together, we can create a future that is brighter and more inclusive for all.
Here’s to 15 years of Tempo Time Credits, and to many more years of making a difference, one community at a time. Thank you for being part of our story.
