Tempo supports The Big Help Out campaign

Backed by celebrities and members of the Royal Household, The Big Help Out is a national campaign designed to inspire a new generation of volunteers to lend a hand in King Charles III’s Coronation Year.

It seeks to give those new to volunteering a great range of opportunities, starting from Monday 8 May 2023, and lasting throughout the summer. The national media will also continue to shine a spotlight on volunteering throughout Volunteers’ Week in June and Thank You Day (2 July).

We are delighted to be able to lend our support and be part of The Big Help Out. Our Chief Executive, Rachel Gegeshidze, was on BBC Radio Wales this morning (listen again from 6.57am) helping to launch the campaign and highlight what a great opportunity this is to get more people involved in supporting local communities.

We know from our own experience how challenging volunteer recruitment has been since the pandemic. Our work helps to engage and retain new people rewarding them for their time and skills. This campaign is a great initiative to encourage more people to commit whatever time they can from an hour to a day, from a one-off to a regular commitment to support those in their local area or a local charity.

Charities & Organisations – attract new volunteers

If your organisation is seeking to attract new volunteers you can advertise your events, one off volunteering opportunities, or ongoing roles on the Big Help Out platform and capitalise on this new audience. Click here to create your free account, from which you can post and manage all your opportunities. And if you’d like to know more about the campaign and how it works, some FAQs are also available.

Planning a special volunteer-led event for the Coronation, or later in the summer?

The Big Help Out is looking for great events on which to shine a light as part of its media campaign. If you think your event could welcome a media crew and your volunteers would be willing to be interviewed, they would love to hear from you! Simply complete their short enquiry form, selecting the option ‘I’d like to tell you about an event we are running or a volunteer that would like to be involved’ and tell them as much as you can at this stage.

You can view the events and volunteering opportunities near you on The Big Help Out app.

An extra thank you from us – add 50 Time Credits to your account

If you’re a community group or organisation in England or Wales that is signed up to the Tempo Time Credit platform and you have an event planned across the Coronation weekend we want to help you give a thank you to your volunteers.

Register your event on the Big Help Out Platform here and email a screenshot or link to your event on the platform to us at support@timecredits.com and we will add up to 50 Time Credits to your Time Credit account.

You’ll be able to give a thank you to your volunteers for lending a hand this May and June!
