As we launch our new Tempo Time Credit programme in Islington we’re pleased to see our recognition partner network in the area also growing so we’d like to give a warm Tempo welcome to our latest recognition partner in the area Islington Assembly Halls. This is your first non-classical music venue for you to use your Tempo Time Credits with. We’re pleased to have them on board as a truly unique partner and our first partner in the area since the programme started adding to a growing list of partners in and around Islington for volunteers to visit and use their Tempo Time Credits with.
We are so excited to be working with Tempo Time Credits and providing their volunteers with the chance to experience live music in return for all their hard work. Volunteering is vital for so many community initiatives and if we can provide people with the encouragement to continue their hard work or just offer people an experience they wouldn’t usually have, then we will be very happy!
A bit about Islington Assembly Hall
The venue was built in 1929 and was officially first opened on 15 March 1930. It soon became a popular venue, hosting dances and variety shows, and continued to be used for awards presentations, tea dances and weddings until its closure in the 1980s. After nearly 3 decades of being unused, in 2009 the venue was given hope as Islington Council raised funds to reopen the historic venue and welcome the residents of Islington and the wider city back through its doors.
Fast forward March 2010
After reopening in March 2010, the venue has welcomed music promoters, traders, national companies, community organisations, punters and council departments. All making the most of the beautiful space and flexibility of its use. The venue now welcomes people from all over the country to walk its red carpet on arrival and experience an event on the historic dance floor.
Why should I visit the venue?
We can speak for all people when we say that live music venues have been sorely missed over the past year 18 months and with the selection of events on offer there is something for everyone, view the full timetable here. Many of us have suffered from mental health issues since lockdown started and music venues forced to close, music being medicine to so many people has resulted in a rise of people suffering with their mental health. A study from 2016 has even proven the positive impacts live music can have on your mental health, making this a great recognition partner for all those seeking out live music when the time comes and those looking for a positive experience to help them through hard times.
What’s the offer?
Launching on 21st May, Tempo Time Credit volunteers will be able to access a ticket for a show including a soft drink for 2 Tempo Time Credits. There is a limited number of Tempo Time Credit Tickets per performance so please book ahead via the offer link here. You can also check out the venue’s website here.
