Business Development Executive – Commissioners and Grants

We do this with Tempo Time Credits, one of the world’s largest time-based community recognition systems. People earn Tempo Time Credits when they give their time and use them on a wide range of activities they choose. Over 56,000 people have earned over 900,000 Tempo Time Credits so far, and we partner with over 1,500 community organisations, public services and businesses.
Tempo are on a 5-year journey to becoming a nationwide organisation, enabling people from any community to get involved in Tempo Time Credits, join their community and access new opportunities. By 2023, we aim to have reached 250,000 people across England and Wales and see 2.5m Tempo Time Credits earned and spent.
Tempo Time Credits have ambitious and exciting plans towards realising our vision, and the business development and Digital Time Credits team are responsible for ensuring we have the funds needed to achieve our goals. The Commissioner and Grants Business Development Executive will be directly responsible for developing a pipeline of prospective funders and generating new income from trusts, foundations and statutory bodies), whilst managing and maximising a portfolio of grant relationships and building the profile of Tempo Time Credits and our partners through applications to relevant awarding organisations.
You are passionate about developing communities and about creating positive, lasting societal change. This role would suit someone who is an experienced fundraiser with a strong track-record of Business Development with the professionalism, energy, creativity and drive to seek out and make the most of funding opportunities. The successful candidate will need to rapidly get to grips with Tempo’s key areas of work and the impact we seek to achieve and be able to articulate this to donors in a way that is accessible, accurate and compelling.
Our team is a small and close-knit team, so you will need to be both self-sufficient and a team player. You will regularly collaborate with people across Tempo, from contract managers to the finance team and operations team. You will be an excellent communicator with a passion for fundraising, and the willingness to muck in on all tasks big or small in order to ensure that Tempo is in the best position possible to keep delivering impact to the communities in the United Kingdom.
