Bexley’s Tempo Time Credits programme has run since 2017. When a pilot was commissioned by Orbit Housing, the brief had priority areas with key outcomes of improving the health and wellbeing of local residents and increasing participation and community engagement. Following on from this, the programme was recommissioned to include all areas of Bexley and more recently to work with small grassroots organisations and to increase resident participation.
During this time, 23 community groups engaged 401 people volunteering their time towards regular and one-off activities. They earned 12,258 Tempo Time Credits for time volunteered and used 1,477 Tempo Time Credits accessing services, activities and experiences.
>> 76% of individuals surveyed reported Tempo Time Credits have helped improve health and wellbeing
>> 57% of members reported improved quality of life
>> 46% felt more confident
>> 42% felt less socially isolated and lonely
Organisations involved with the programme also reported;
>> 66% of organisations felt they could reach more people who need their services
>> 55% could provide more opportunities for people to give their time
>> 79% of organisations felt more sustainable as it helped save them money
>> 66% could promote what they do to more people.
