Noel earns his Tempo Time Credits as an unlikely member of the usually all-female Crafty Seniors group. As a resident of Llanfyhangel Sheltered Scheme, he enjoys spending time with the group making pom-poms for the Llanelli Yarn Bombing project that takes place in Llanelli town centre in July/August every year. Having recently lost his wife, Noel has felt lonely and isolated, he wanted to spend more time outside of his flat but didn’t know where to go.
Our Partnership
Noel earns Tempo Time Credits at the group sessions, making Pom-Poms, sharing his skills and supporting other people to make them, and helping to run the group.
Noel has used his Tempo Time Credits to visit Laugharne, where he was able to visit the Dylan Thomas Boat House and the Tin Shed Experience, which transports participants back to the second world war. Noel said he wouldn’t have been able to visit these places because of the journey, and not really having people to go with. Being part of the Crafty Seniors and the Tempo Time Credit Network has brought him new friends and experiences.
“Making Pom-Poms with the group has helped me make new friends and have new experiences. I wouldn’t have gone to the boathouse without them.”
