Increasing footfall with Tempo Time Credits

Our Recognition Partner network offers a range of activities to our volunteers throughout the year, with holiday sports programs dedicated to keeping the kids occupied, to tickets for attractions available at a venue’s quieter times.

Not just a free ticket

Time Credits make good business sense.

In our most recent survey (342 responses):

77% of volunteers spend at least £5 during a visit

74% ‘sometimes’ or ‘always’ bring a paying friend with them

54% return as a paying customer

We recognise that not all businesses are the same. So how can Tempo Time Credits drive footfall to your business when you want it?

The beauty of becoming a Tempo Recognition Partner is that you can choose what suits your business best.  If your existing customers keep you busy on a weekend you can tailor your special offer to midweek, if your Fitness & Leisure club is always quiet on a Saturday morning we can offer just that time to our volunteers.

How Tempo Time Credits work

  • Individuals earn digital Time Credits when they volunteer with a charity or community program that is part of the Tempo network,
  • Volunteers use their credits on a wide range of activities, products, and services, such as education, health & fitness, or even food shopping,
  • Activities, products, and services are provided by business partners affiliated with Tempo – our recognition partner group,
  • Collectively building resilience and growth to the local economy and community.

How Tempo can support limited capacity venues

Our digital platform offers complete flexibility, so you can offer anything from 10 to 100+ tickets for a particular event depending on your anticipated demand. You can offer a limited number of tickets to every performance, or just those you know will need a little extra support.  You can pause or offer more as you need.

Customer loyalty is not affected. Many of our arts venues for example report that the use of Tempo Time Credits increases customer visits, encouraging loyal customers to attend more often or to try events they wouldn’t normally pay for.

Offering products, resources, and services

We have a number of partners that offer their services online. Treasure Trails joined us at the beginning of the year offering our volunteers access to more than 1,200 self-guided themed adventure trails across the UK.

Another Recognition Partner, White Rose Maths, support our volunteers and their families with access to their award-winning maths support materials for parents, teachers, and schools.

Accepting Time Credits all year round

If you operate a local business where you don’t have as many restrictions and want to encourage customers throughout the year then we can accommodate that too.

Plantasia, a fully immersive tropical zoo based in Swansea, use the Tempo network to raise their profile to their local community and bring in new target audiences who would never normally have the opportunity to visit.

They were initially nervous about being overrun by offering to accept Time Credits all year round, but they manage their offer in a way that works for their business and believe they’ve never turned any potential customers away.

People are using our venue for free, but they value it more – there is always a smile on their face! If you have a good offer, they will go away and spread the word. More often than not they will spend in the gift shop or bring people with them. – Anthony Williams, Attraction Manager at Plantasia

We believe that Tempo Time Credits can suit all types of businesses.  If you would like to discuss how we can support your organisation either now or in the future, get in touch with the Tempo team to discuss your bespoke package.
